My live in Jakarta and my live in New York have differ in terms of finance. Whereas in Jakarta was cheap, in New York was expensive. In Jakarta, not only could i buy many clothes, but i also ate many food five times a day, moreover i could treat my friends all days. Indeed, in Jakarta was fullness. In New York, I both must school and must work. in addition, I just can eat three times a days. In fact I am almost not have money to buy anything.

Removing life support from someone in a persistent vegetative state is a difficult decision; I think that nobody except God has the faculty to decide when or how a person should die. I also think that people have to die from a natural cause. Indeed if you are connected by a machine that supports your life this is not natural either it is an artificial life.


Maybe I seem to be contradicting my arguments, but for this reason I think that removing the life support is a difficult decision. Moreover in those cases the family of the sick person suffers a lot and always has the hope of a remote or impossible recovery of health.

I came to New York from Tokyo as a student.

So I felt like going to Australia. However I also really love New York . There
are a lot of good things about of the countries. I not only like the ocean, but I also like big cites. Moreover ,I really like to live with a lot of people from other countries. I thought that was exactly NYC.


I was thinking about getting some advice from a woman who used to live in Michigan.
She said to me ,” If you want to learn American English ,the states is my recommend”. Then also she told me that I wanted to go to NY,I just need to be careful, because she thought NY was still dangerous ,so did my mother. However I insisted on going NY . In additional , the woman mentioned
“ If you learn English in NYC ,you are going to learn a lot of kinds of English and understand many type of accents.

Finally I decided going the big apple. Why did I chose it ? Because I just like it and want to live . I succeeded in choosing the big apple ,though .

A difficult decision for me was choosing study in university at my own country or a foreign country. In this decision I chose to study in a university in another country and now I have been here. This decision is very hard because if I still stayed my own country I would never get much experience from an outside country. And if I went to another country I would be far from my family, friends, all people I knew, and also I lost everything.

In the fact I took studying in another country, because I thought experience would happen only once but not twice. Friends we could get again in another country. That was my very difficult decision in my life. Because this decision shows the way to my future.

The first time I faced this decision I felt I didn’t want to go to a foreign country. I didn’t want to lose anything that I already had and when the time for decision was almost near, I was thinking again it because this would mean getting a great experience and studying because it was different when you got an education in your own country.

So I took studying aboard and now I’m studying here and I will get a good ending too here.

I really had many differents decisions but I am going to tell one of them that I think was the most difficult decision in my life.

The most difficult decision was coming to NY I mean the United state of America because I left in my country my family , friends girlfriend and the customs. Anyway , I love my country but there are many politicians corrupt that treat the people badly I mean they are stealing our money in order to spend on whatever they like.

I really miss my food , the souces, etc .It is difficult to find our special food here. You can find but it is no the same here, so sometimes we should compromise with hamburgers in MacDonald’s.

For the last question it is not finished yet, I mean I came here to the USA in order to learn English and be able to study anew career .Even thought I finished my career in my country , I want to study another career in the USA Business Administration.

Now I am feeling well so i have made some friends in NY. Sometimes we go out dancing , hanging out etc but really I do not like the weather here “special the winter” because after snowing NY becomes sloppy.

I hope I have a good ending in the USA because I am in one of the best ages of my life so everything is up to God and me.

It was a difficult decision before I had come to The USA for many reasons .I am going to give you some of them here.

Coming to The USA is too difficult for many persons, because of the weather no being the same as our countries we should avoid harsh weather unknown people ,etc.

Before I Came here I felt Exited because I was going to get to know new people and I had to apologize to my girlfriend for leaving her without me , but I decided against not staying on my own country ,anyway .My girlfriend Told me that she was going to miss me but I said ,“ I am going to miss you too”. Meanwhile I was thinking about bringing her after one year.

I had been thinking that in the USA not only was I going to have more opportunity working but also I am going to make more money. Moreover, I could save more money.

I told my friends that I not only was going to know many woman from differents countries , but also I was going to know the statue of liberty. Moreover, I would send them plenty of pictures about my new life in The USA.

So I apologize to my friends for leaving them.

My Difficult Decision

One of my difficult decisions was looking forward to studying in the U.S. it is very hard for me to decide on going to study. If I was going to the U.S, I would have to think about my family at Jakarta. So I decide to go studied aboard.

The first time I told to my girlfriend, I said that I would go to study aboard. She prevented me from studying aboard. Because she said, “When you go study aboard I not only will be sad but I also will feel lonely.” I felt so guilty when she told me that. So I accuse myself of hurting her.

Not only did my girlfriend feel sad, but also my family felt sorrowful. That was the reason why this was the very hard decision for me to choose. When there was only one day in Jakarta left for me, we made a farewell party. In that party they congratulated me on going aboard. And they also warned me to be carefully in here because its different with our country.

I was born in the old Thai culture that has a lot of cultural rules. When I was 20, I had a boyfriend we had a relationship for 3 years at that time he broke his leg because he leapt down from a second story window, he lived in dormitory but he wanted to watch a world cup game and escape.

After all he went into the hospital and I took care of him unfortunately, I had met another man and my boyfriend’s parents wanted us to get married.
What a terrible situation! I was young and I’d never met another man and I wanted to do too many things. So, I decided to break up I know , I was a bad girl and then I lost 5kg weight in a period of two weeks. Of course I’m not so underweight now ^^

This story was 1 years ago, now I don’t have a boyfriend. But actually, I’m not interested in boyfriends. Because there are too many sights to see in newyork

I came to U.S.A first time four years ago. I had planed to study English for two years. but as soon as I came
here, I felt very lonely. I missed my parents and my friends. after four months , I couldn'd endure anymore.
So I thought that I had to go back home. eventhough I didn't accomplish my hope, it might be okay.
I gave myself some comfortable. eventually, I decided to come back to Korea.
It was very a wrong decion. because although I was in Korea and lived with my family, I wasn't happy.
My wish that can speack English well always bothered me. so I thought everday if I must study again in U.S.A.

I don’t like making decision. When I going to buy some clothes, I prefer going to the store with my mother. But tow years ago when I was in high school all my friends were wearing different kinds of clothes than me. They told me that I had to change my style.

During this time Britney Spears was the most famous singer in her style and she had an influence on all the teenagers.


Then I made the decision to change my style. I began to wear short blouse, short skirts, etc. I felt different. It did not have a good ending.

However now I have more experience and I make whatever decision for myself.

Few months ago I had to make a really difficult decision, I was in my internship year, working at the Critical Pediatric Care Unit. For a long time we were trying to help Katamuskay’s son survive. We not only had many children to care, but I also tried to care for the son of our friend.

Katamuskay’s son was the first child of our friend, who had been working as a nurse in the Critical Care Unit for a long time, and has been a close friend to me. For months she insisted on becoming pregnant without any positive result. Finally, she was pregnant. Every thing was right and she was the happiest woman in the world. Every time she thought about her future son.

But at the birth time every thing was wrong and the child suffered a condition know as low oxygen flow to his brain or hypoxia at the birth. The medical doctors can’t prevent patients from that condition. The mom continuously asked us, “What happened?” She wondered what the prognosis for her children would be. We tried to apologize for not having any reason for that situation.

All of us in the Unit didn’t feel like working in that situation, but every time we made our best effort. The child succeeded in getting healthy every time and we congratulate his mother for that effort. Finally 3 weeks before the child was admitted to the Unit, he suddenly stopped his cardiopulmonary function. Immediately we tried to reviving him for almost two hours without any successful. The baby was died near to 5:00 A.M.

The attending Pediatrician and I were giving the notice for the mother and the family too. That was a particular difficult decision for me

In 2002, I had three weeks vacation, so I visited my country. It was a time I will never forgot. My best friend betrayed me with her money.

Anita was my best friend, she was like my mother. She always controlled everything about my life. One day I told her that I got three weeks vacation. As a best friend, I asked her.” What is my plan for vacation should I go visit my country to meet my family or stay in New York and save my money, then buy a house? It was difficult for me to make a decision.

Finally, I told her my decision to visit my country because I missed my family, she supported my decision and she gave me a couple of thousand dollars for my vacation trip. She said that you might need this money for you trip, and you can enjoy yourself with your family. It was very nice, but I said that I would pay her back when I came back. Then she said,” Don’t worry about it. This is a present for you,”

After three weeks on vacation I found out she had taken my car and given it to her family and I was so upset because she had supported my decision but she betrayed me with her money. All I can think is I wish she was my best friend. Why was she doing this? She didn’t help me but she was trying to take something from me as a best friend.

One of the most difficult decisions for me was coming to The United States. I intended to start the college in my country and a had won in high school a special credit for my career in the university.

However my mother told me that it would be better to study in New York because I had to learn English very well.

Also my father insisted on my traveling to The United States. He Said, “if you stay here for long time you are going to lose your residency in North America”. I felt like a dead-end street.

Not only have I been studying in another country but also I have been studying in another language. They congratulated me on making the decision ok moving to N.Y.C.

Now I’m looking forward to learning English As fast as possible.

DIFFICULT DECISION

The most difficult decision in my life was to come here to New York, not only because I left my grandmother but also, because I love my country, and living it, is something really hard. I felt like going down, but I needed to think about my future.

I really miss my family, mostly when I remember my little cousin saying that she wanted to come with me. She disapproved of my traveling. She accused me of being mean and her mother said, ‘We will miss you.’ But I suspect her of thinking the same as her child.








As I am so young I have not made a big decision yet in my live, but maybe the most difficult decision was coming to New York to study. I had to come here because I wanted study some thing here that is better here than in my country.

This was a difficult decision because I left my grand mother in Colombia. She is the most important person for me and I really miss her. When I was in the airport, that was the saddest moment in my seventeen years I hope never feel that again.
I think that this decision will have a good ending because all this is for my future and if I take all the good stuff from this, it could be the best decision in my life, difficult but the best, ‘I hope.’ I have to wait and see if was a good decision.

When I have a problem?

I have gone to the army. All korean guys must go to the army. That is a duty. this is my story.

I received mail to the office of manpower administration a few yers ago. That message was like this:

dear bogue, you are a young man and proud of our country, so you should come to the army.

I was surprised because i was twenty years old, so i had delayed a year.

After, a year, i was thinking of my army life, wheher or not to accept?

I decided to go tothe army. my parents, family members and friends were about me.

After that, i went to the army in kang won do. It is a very hard place because it is near north korea

and training is famous hardship. I was afraid and worried about my army life.

But my thinking was wrong. not only was very hard, but my mental condithin was very weak.

After i gave my position. it was not th army because the regional police headquarthers had scouted

for me, so my position was a combat policeman.

My working was not hard and i metgood guys, despite corporal punishment.

I was a very lucky and my army life was a good life. I think that you should not be scared aboutyour problems.

A DIFFICULT DECISION



One year ago I was in my home insisting on finding a job in my major, but the economic and employment situation in my country was difficult and I didn’t get or find any job. I stayed in my home for six months worried about my future and bored because I didn’t have anything to do.

After those six months I talked with my parents about my thinking about having a trip, my thinking about going to New York to study English and work too. My parents asked me if I was sure about those decisions and also they said to me that all the things that I decided in my life they approved.

I thought a lot about my decision because it is hard leave your family, your country, your friends, your customs and go to other place where you are strange and also you don’t know many things such as the language, taking the subway, the city and the behavior of different cultures and people.

Finally I decided to come to New York. I arrived here in July of 2004. I started study English in La Guardia Community College. I feel good because I get independence, now I appreciate more things in my live and also I learn a lot every day. However I missed my country and my parents. I hope to learn English very quickly to return to my city and enjoy new things.

One of my classmates said,” My friend and I are going to Boston this weekend. Why don’t you join us?” I thanked him for inviting me and I thought about it.

Though he insist on my coming, I declined his invitation.

I said that not only didn’t I have any job, but I also had to save my money. Moreover, my roommate was going to come back from L.A. next Friday.

Though I felt like going with them, I prevented my being poor. My being poor prevented me from going.

I suspect them of enjoying their time on next weekend.

I often meet strange people. They are often homeless.
One day while I was walking on the street, I found a person who came to me and stood in my way. I thought it was not good to avoid him obviously, so I avoided him gradually. But he didn’t stop that. Finally, he stood in front of me.

I watched him. Then he tried to give me a piece of bread that he was eating!!! I refused it gently but he tried to persuade me. I said,” thank you but I am really full and I don’t want it” He finally gave up.

Another experience is one day I was in the train in Tokyo. One homeless person sat on a front of me and ate candy. Think about it now, I realize it was my fault. I stared at his action. He noticed that I was staring and after that he tried to give the candy to me. I also refused his proposed.

It was a good decision, I think.

My name is Seung bae Yoon. I majored in music.

A few years ago, I was studying at a Korean University. At that time, I studied music very hard.

I listened to music everyday, and went to music concerts everyday, because when I was playing or listening music, I felt happy.


One day, I went to music festival. There I had seen a cutegirl, and I was falling in love. After metting with her. I decided to tell about my

feeling. I said " I like you so much and I really want to be your boyfriend." She received my proposal.


My girlfriend and I met almust everyday, sometimes I played piano and violin for her. She was happy too.


Sixmonth later, somebody called me and she said that I had to go into the army. I was suprised by that situation.

I worriend my self, and my sweetheart. I didn't want to leave her, but I decided to tell her about my situation.

It was a difficult decision for me.


She cried so much, when I told her my situation.

She said that if I went into the army, she was going to write a letter everyday. I felt deep emotion, but it was a lie!

She never sent me a letter! I didn't know why, but she dumped me.


After that I wrote mt own music. I wanted to express my mind by music. I just want She will be happy !

When I was in middle-school. I was pushed to study hard by my father, but I didn’t want to do that. One-day, I enrolled an extra school. All after regular classes. I should go there, but I needed some rest time, So I didn’t go the extra school for a year. I lied to my father. He didn’t know about that, but he gave money to me. I spent that money on my hobby. My hobbys were collecting toy-guns and cartoon books.

One day, The extra school called my father and told about me. He got angry and called me. I didn’t know about that situation. I went to my father without knowing.

My father hit me. He used everything in my house. I felt that I would die. He hit me for a day without rest-time.

After that experience. I’ve never told a lie to my father. A lie to my father is death to me.

When I was young, I enrolled in an extra school, but I didn’t want to go there. So, I was thinking about telling a lie. I succeed in telling a lie. My father believed me. Not only didn’t I go to the extra school but I also took my extra school expenses.

One day, My friend said, “ you must go to the extra school.” He warned me against lying to my father, but I said that I hadn’t felt like going to the extra school.


One year later, my father suspected me of not going to the extra school, but the doubt couldn’t stop me from lying about the extra school. When you make decision it means you have an opportunity or you still have other ways. (choices)

It was my difficult decision. I did not know what was happening in the future and what would happen after I decided; I waste time deciding it for 2 days. I did not do any thing, just thought and thought a bout it in terns of Probability, Reasonableness and Consequences. 2 days were like 2 years

At last, I decided. After I decided, it makes me meet you and it changed my life to the new place, new culture and new meaning of my life

I did every thing that I never had done before. I did a job that I had to do, a job that I did not want or need to do. But the situation and the Environment controlled me. It makes me a man not a boy forever.

I think, I decided the right way. I could stand on my feet. But this way, it was so long. I was just starting. I did know, what would happen on my way. But I believed that my feet could pass it.

I did not see my finish line, But I knew, it was. On my way it would make me grow up and strong.

" My Pleasure "

When I had free time, I felt like decorating for a long time. So my sister didn't stop me from decorating all the time. She usually said, "How can you make everything with balloons? " And she asked if I usually spent long time for decorations.
I not only liked the time of decorating,but I also enjoyed dealing with balloons. Moreover,I disliked using my hands to make something for decoration.
When I gave something for a gift, many people loved it and responded with smiles. They thanked me for giving balloon decorations. Moreover,they were looking forward to meeting me when they had a special day.
I didn't want to stop myself from enjoying the time. Not only will I try new decorating with balloons, but I also will make something unusal when I have spare time. Moreover, I will enjoy giving to someone for a special day.

When I had free time, I felt like decorating for a long time. So my sister didn't stop me from decorating all the time. She usually said, "How can you make everything with balloons? " And she asked if I usually spent long time for decorations.
I not only liked the time of decorating,but I also enjoyed dealing with balloons. Moreover,I disliked using my hands to make something for decoration.
When I gave something for a gift, many people loved it and responded with smiles. They thanked me for giving balloon decorations. Moreover,they were looking forward to meeting me when they had a special day.
I didn't want to stop myself from enjoying the time. Not only will I try new decorating with balloons, but I also will make something unusal when I have spare time. Moreover, I will enjoy giving to someone for a special day.
