Tingting,

Thanks for sharing your writing here.

I see a punctuation problem. The technical word for it is "comma splice." The first sentence has one.

"There are 4 people in our group, all of us are females" has incorrect punctuation. There are at least three ways to correct it.

You could make two separate sentences:

A. "There are 4 people in our group." All of us are females."

It's also possible to keep the comma by using a conjunction.

B. "There are 4 people in our group, and all of us are females.

Another- and maybe the most effective way- is to use an adjective clause.

C. There are 4 people in our group, all of whom are females.

In the second paragraph, you should introduce a list with a colon (:), not with a comma (,). You used the correct one with languages but not with continents.

When you write numbers with four digits or more, you need to use commas.

1000 is incorrect. 1,000 is correct.

Other than those very minor punctuation errors, the writing is error-free.

Gerardo Galarza

                                                                The Group

There are 5 people in our group. Three are women and two are men. The maximum age is 49, the minimum age is 16 and the average age is 24. Students in our group have the following occupations: waiter, babysitter, accountant and dry cleaner manager. We are all students now.

We come from a total of 4 countries and represent 2 continents, America and Asia. 3 languages are spoken by our group: Spanish, Thai, and Nepal.

The largest hometown represented in our group is Mexico, with a population of 90.000.000. The smallest hometown is Thailand of 60.000.

Our marital status is varied. 2 person are married and 3 are single. 3 of us live with family, one live alone and another has a room-mate.

The person in my group who has been in New York the longest is Santiago who can here 16 years ago. By contrast Emon has been here just one month. She has been in New York the shortest of anyone in our group, and we welcome her. The average length of time in new York is about seven years old.

We are happy and excited in this group to keep learning from each other.

----

Gerardo, this looks fine. At first glance, I see no errors at all. But let's look closer.

One suggestion: when you type on the computer, you don't need to "indent" paragraphs. Just skipping a line is enough to show that the paragraphs are separate.

When you write numbers with 4 digits or more (thousand, ten thousand, etc.), use commas instead of periods.

10,000,000 is correct

10.000.000 is incorrect.

Remember that "person" in the fourth paragraph is plural. It should be "people," of course.

Also in the fourth paragraph, "one" is 3rd person singular (he, she or it) and the present tense verb after it needs an "s." "lives" is correct. (you remembered with "has"; that's correct).

In paragraph five, you wrote "can" instead of "came," the past tense of "come."

new York is incorrect. New York is correct.

"The average length of time in new York is about seven years old." You should delete one word from this sentence. I think you can find which one.

Maria,

Nice writing!

I've copied your article and made corrections with BIG letters so they are visible.

Some of the corrections are just one letter, for a spelling error.

Spelling in English is difficult. I advise you to use the "spell check" (abc above)

It's a good idea to make separate paragraphs. That's easier to read than one long paragraph.

Thank you for putting your writing on the blog. I hope it wasn't difficult to use the password and user name. Anyway, you succeeded.

I've copied your article with corrections in capital (BIG) letters so they are easy to see.  Please read and see the changes. Notice, for example, that the first letter of place and people names are capitalized. Also, there is never an "s" at the end of an adjective.
