Alfredo Quinonez

Alfredo was born in Mexico. When he was age five he worked with his father in the gas station. He continued studying until he became a teacher at the age of 18.

In the mid-1970, Mexico's collapsed and his father couldn't keep his family so he was unable to do it either.

He made a decision to head north. Twenty years ago Alfredo hopped a border fence from Mexico into the U.S. so he became an immigrant farm worker.

He lived in a broken-down camper  because he paid $300 dollars for it. And his cousin told him he would be a farmworker for the rest of his life.

Alfredo took the class of English at a community college. Later, he attended the University of California, Berkeley because a teacher encouraged it.

Alfredo developed an interest in the scientific method.

At present,  he is a neurosurgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University and a researcher who is looking for the breakthrough in the treatment of brain cancer.
