Thanks, Danuta and Hendri, for writing and publishing your summary of Alfredo's story. I have written it again below and suggest you read and compare my version with the original version, consider the differences:


from the teacher:

Alfredo was born in Mexico. When he was 5 years old he started work with his father in a small gas station.
He lived 60 miles south of the U.S. border.

When he was 18 years old he became a teacher. and the same year the economy of Mexico collapsed.
And then he made a hard decision to come to the U.S.A.  His first job was as a farmworker. He worked hard picking tomatoes , cotton and cantaloupes, and with his first pay check he bought a small camper for $300.

Then his cousin told him he would be a farmworker for the rest of his life.

Alfredo thought it was time to move on.  He started with English classes. Then his teacher  encouraged him to attend  the University of California. Alfredo went to Harvard Medical School . He gave the commencement speech (like Steve Jobs at Stanford), and the same time he received his U.S citizenship.
Now he is neurosurgeon and professor at Johns Hopkins University. At present he is looking for medication for brain cancer.......!!!!
