Notes on Ibrahim's post

"Ibrahim,

Thanks for posting your conversation here. I've written some notes about it below.

A:How long does it  take you to get from your home to the subway ?
 B:It takes me 2 minutes.

That's correct.
How long last match you went last? A:
B:It lastes  3 months.

When you make a PAST TENSE QUESTION, you need DID+SUBJECT+VERB BASE FORM (the BASE FORM is the dictionary form of the verb, without "ing," "ed," etc. The BASE FORM of "last" is "last." You used it correctly.

The SUBJECT of your question should be "the last match you went to" or "the last match you attended."

Your answer has a problem with the VERB. It should be "LASTED." Maybe you just mis-typed.
A: How long does it take you to call your parents ?
B: It takes me  one hours.

That's correct, but there is a small error. "One hour" (not "one hours") is correct.
How long did your meet with your parents last? A:
B:It lasted me 2 weeks.

The form is "How long + did+ SUBJECT+ last?

The SUBJECT is always a NOUN.

"Your meet with parents" is not a noun.

You can change a VERB to a NOUN with "ing."

"Your meeting with your parents" is a NOUN and can be the SUBJECT.

So the correct question is "How long did your meeting with your parents last?"

In the answer, omit "me."
A:How long does it take you to cook your lunch?
B: it takes me 1 hour.

Both question and answer are correct.

A: How long does you take to do your home work ?
B: It takes me one hour.

The answer is correct, but the question is not.

Remember, this form is "How long- does/did it take (you) to VERB?"

You can fix that.

A: How long  did this home work take ?
it took me half hour.

This question has the same error. You can fix it.

A: How long did the bus late yestarday?
B:it late 20 minutes.

This is a different kind of question. "How long" should change to "How late."

The correct question is "How late was the bus yesterday?" and the answer is "It was 20 minutes late."
How long did you meet your friends last?
 It lasted 5 hour.

This has the same error as the question about meeting with parents.

Change "you meet your friends" to "your meeting with your friends." Then it's a NOUN and you can use it as the SUBJECT of the sentence:

How long+ SUBJECT+ last?

"How long did your meeting with your friends last?"

A: How long did you clean your bedroom last?
    B: It lastes 2 days .

Here you can make a correct SUBJECT by changing "you clean your bedroom" to "your cleaning your bedroom," but I think a better question is with the other form:

How long+ did it take (you) to+ VERB?

"How long did it take you to clean your bedroom?

"It took me 2 days."

And remember, "lastes" is incorrect. You can write the PAST TENSE ("lasted") or PRESENT TENSE with "he," "she" or "it" ('lasted').
