STAY SAFE THIS SUMMER

Summer has arrived.
In Summer there are disasters specially with the childrens, said Marie Lozon, director of pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Michigan Health System.
She said also: Here are three common trauma-season causes of injury and simple ways to avert the disasters:

- Bike accidents
- Falls
- Drowning

Kids wearing helmets too big, too small. Chrissy Cianflone, director of program operations at Safe Kids USA recommended buying a helmet standar of the Consumer Product Safety Comission which should be evident by a sticker.

There are two easy ways to prevent children from falling: supervision and window guards, do not allow kids to play on balconies or roofs. Kids have to use sneakers with adequate rubber on the soles.

The most basic advice to prevent drowning is to have an adult watching the water at all times. Children swimming in lakes, oceans and rivers need to wear lifejackets, Cianflone added.

Yes, having children means having to be careful about their safety. Kids don't realize how dangerous the world is. But some parents become overprotective, watch their children. Have you ever heard the term "helicopter mother"?

Kids need the help of adults but they also need to learn how to live independently.
