I respect Juyoung Jung who was a president of Hyun-Dai Group. Although he is dead and his group was separated by his children, the Group Hyun-Dai and his name still are spoken by people. After the Korean war, our country was so impoverished that even there were seldom foods only to live. At that time he had known what was for our country. Although there was a personal gathering of wealth after all, all of it had become a wealth of country. Someone called me like a praiser of Capitalism. But I think economy is the most important thing to live today.
After the war there was no source to live: No resource, No technology, No skill, No well educated human resource. So he thought we need technology, skill and capital. He had asked for a loan positively from some advanced nation and tried to learn advanced technology. Now it sounds like everyone knows it, but at that time no one thought about that in my country. So he made a construction company, motor company, heavy industry company, etc. It was the base of our economic development today. Now, economic power is the most influencial power all over the world. Our country’s economic state began from our predecessor’s enterprise, people like Juyoung Jung.
When he was 60years old, maybe, he tried to be a president of Korea. Not only did he want to be a king of economy, but he also wanted to be a king of our country. But he was defeated, and after that election his group had a hard time, because the elected president didn’t like him, so as matter of fact he who was elected was an obstacle to Juyoung’s activity of enterprise and Hyun-Dai had had a hard time in Korea. I think it is the only mistake that he made in his life. Although he made a desire in his last scene, it is obvious that he is hero of our country and me.
