Obama, who supported legislation on conservation, energy, immigration and honest leadership, was elected as a U.S. senator in 2004 and made history in 2008 when he won the U.S. presidential election as the first African-American to be president. 

Obama, who is serving his second term as U.S. president, said that all army troops will come back before his term in the White House is done.
