(NGF) increase when a person first falls in love. When a relationship become more secure the chemical fades.They took 58 volunteers who had recently fallen in love. They compared the levels of NGF when the people were single or steady relationships and fallen in love. They found increased levels of NGF in the new romantics.This causes sweaty palms and butterflies in stomachs,and perhaps made young men buy red roses and candlelit dinners.
