Saturday homework

Homework:

The homework is to write on the blog a summary about a person. You can write about Sunny or about a friend of yours or about a fictional person.

I know you are busy. You only have to write a short paragraph:

example: He was born in Mexico and moved to New York when he was ten years old. He has been living in Brooklyn with his sister and her husband for three years. His dream is to be a horticulturalist, and he is studying botany at Laguardia Community College. In the future, he is going to enroll in a master's course at Columbia University.

Book recommendation:

You don't have to buy a book for class. We are practicing grammar in class and on-line. If you want more practice with a book, you can try one of these. Both are good for learning and review:

1. "Understanding and Using English Grammar."

The writer is Betty Azar

and the publisher is Prentice Hall Regents

It is available at Amazon.com (online only)

http://www.amazon.com/Understanding-English-Grammar-Student-without/dp/013958661X

and

2. "Grammar In Use"

The writer is Murphy.

The publisher is Cambridge

It is also available at Amazon.com

If you prefer to go to a bookstore, a bookstore that sells textbooks is Barnes and Noble. I suggest you call the store before you go to be sure they have the book. You can find store locations and phone numbers here. (Don't be shy. Just ask, "Do you have Grammar in Use? The writer is Murphy. The publisher is Cambridge. Oh, really? You have it? Could you please tell me the price?")
