Known professionally as SHAKIRA is a Colombian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, philanthropist, and actress who emerged as a musical prodigy in the music in Latin America in the early 1990s. Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Shakira is a native Spanish speaker and also spearks English and Portuguese.

Okay, here is my confusion. Are there two Shakiras? I seem to remember students talking about Shakira ten years ago. But the Shakira you introduced is very young. How long has she been popular.
Little by little, I have developed appreciation for Shakira and now I find her fantastic. Colombia is a fantastic country I hope to know more and more about.
