This articles is abaut a young teacher, her name is zheng, who has been teaching chinese in MacArthur High school in Lawton,Oklahoma.
Zheng is learning a few things herself about American culture. I think she has experiencing a lot of culture shock.One of her taken aback is if you teach the students and they don't get it, their problem.Here if they don't get it, you teach it again.She can see the culture of America school is different.For instance,here students lead more interesting lives,party becouse they are more involved in athleties, choir and other actiivities. In China,they study and study and study.She see too,that in America the teachers got little respect, becouse the student disrupted classes by speaking, then the whole class laughs. Another different from China is in this country doesn't value teachers.
teachers don't earn much same like china but it's a very honorable career.
All in All, Zheng thinks this country is so different from her own. She can teach a lot and really get to know this country and culture well.
